Team BMC, with Carod, heads out overseas for last two World Cups of the season

For the second time this year, Team BMC is traveling across the Atlantic Ocean. This time, the destination is the North American continent, with Lake Placid and Mont-Sainte-Anne hosting the final two World Cups of the season.

Last season, the two overseas World Cups were favorable for Team BMC. Jordan Sarrou secured his first World Cup victory in Snowshoe, Juri Zanotti achieved his first career top-10 finish in a World Cup at Mont-Sainte-Anne, and Titouan Carod narrowly missed out on a medal in Canada as well. 

This season, Sarrou hopes to claim another victory on North American soil, while Titouan Carod is particularly relieved to return to his "favorite XC circuit in the world." He shared, "I have some of my best career memories from ‘MSA.’ After missing the World Championships due to my broken hand, it was uncertain for a long time whether I would recover in time for the last two World Cups. I worked so hard to come back, and I’m relieved to actually be able to take the plane and compete.” 

While Lake Placid is a new course on the World Series calendar, best known for hosting the Winter Olympic Games in 1932 and 1980, Mont-Sainte-Anne is a well-established XC classic. Häberlin expressed her interest in seeing a "new racing venue." After finishing fifth in Huttwil, the last preparation race before heading overseas, she is "eager to give it her all" in these final two World Cups of the season.

Not everyone on Team BMC is making the trip to the USA and Canada. Unfortunately, Janis Baumann is insufficiently recovered from physical malaise and must end his season early. Nevertheless, Team BMC is ready to put on a final spectacle. With strong performances in Huttwil and fond memories from last year, the team is hoping to showcase its full potential one last time this season.
